Kuwait’s Minister of Commerce and Industry, Osama Boodai, has issued a decision prohibiting the sale of tobacco, cigarettes, e-cigarettes, and related products through delivery platforms and digital channels. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry can impose warnings, temporary closures, or license revocations for violations of this ban. The decision, which is effective immediately, also includes the repeal of any conflicting provisions and was announced alongside inspection campaigns in Hawally governorate resulting in 13 violation reports. Separately, Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Childhood Affairs, Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah, reported stable food supplies after inspection tours of cooperative societies, urging continued prioritization of essential commodities and national products. Further inspection campaigns in Farwaniya and Ahmadi governorates revealed additional violations related to pricing, product labeling, and commercial activity discrepancies, with legal measures being taken against offenders.
