The shop's operation was linked to another shop in Oswestry, Shropshire, where similar illegal practices were observed, including attempts by staff to flee with contraband. The council successfully applied for a three-month closure order, citing concerns about “further criminality and anti-social behaviour”. Closure order notices were also issued for Moreton Convenience Store and Argyle Mini Market, with the Moreton case being contested and adjourned.
