A British Airways passenger was convicted of assault after shoving an American woman on a flight from New York to London.

Louis Gaston, 31, was convicted of assault by beating and other charges after he shoved American woman Laurel Dillon on a British Airways flight from New York to London in November 2025. Gaston had been caught vaping in the toilet by a flight attendant, who reported smelling cannabis. After landing, Gaston became aggressive and pushed past the couple, threatening them and causing bruising to Mrs Dillon. He admitted to being a regular cannabis user and had smoked a 'spliff' in New York before the flight. Gaston was found guilty of two counts of assault by beating, one count of failing to obey the lawful commands of a pilot, and one count of smoking in an aircraft. He will be sentenced in June.
