Nathan Stanley, 29, of Windsor Avenue, Leicestershire, pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm after punching his girlfriend in the face at a Birmingham Travelodge following a row over a vape last October. The incident left her with a swollen black eye. Police were called after a housekeeper reported commotion. Stanley has learning difficulties, autism, and dyspraxia; his defence said the assault was impulsive and short-lived. He was released on unconditional bail until August 17, when sentencing will follow a pre‑sentence report.
