This change allows him to sell high-intensity THC products, including smokeables, vapes, and concentrates, which were previously restricted due to his lower-potency hemp classification. Rosenfeldt believes the ability to sell vapes is crucial for attracting customers, though he faces challenges such as a shortage of products and a logjam in testing requirements that have led to higher prices. Despite these obstacles, he remains optimistic about the future of the cannabis market in Minnesota. Rosenfeldt's journey began after the loss of his daughter, which led him to use cannabis to manage PTSD and insomnia, a personal experience that fuels his conviction in the plant's benefits. The business landscape in Minnesota has been complicated by the headstart given to tribal governments like the White Earth Nation, which opened a recreational dispensary before the state's licensing system was fully operational. Rosenfeldt managed to keep his business afloat during this period by selling seeds and teaching home cultivation classes. With the new license, Rosebuds Cannabis Co. can now compete directly with tribal dispensaries, though the owner hopes for reduced regulation and increased supply in the future.
