A man pleaded guilty to being part of a syndicate storing 58,000 vape products in Singapore.

Summary

Roy Tan Jun Jie, 34, has become the first member of an organized crime syndicate to admit involvement in a scheme that stored nearly 58,000 vape products. The items were kept in two rented locations: a terrace house in Lentor and a condominium in Sembawang. The syndicate, allegedly directed by an individual known as "Nobody" in Malaysia, utilized a three-tiered structure involving local leaders, local distributors, and area distributors like Tan.

Tan, who served as an area distributor, pleaded guilty to being a member of an organized crime group and possessing 31 vaporisers for sale. The group operated from mid-2022 until October 2025, managing daily deliveries of up to 210 orders. The syndicate used encrypted messaging platforms like WhatsApp and Telegram to maintain anonymity while coordinating logistics and finances.

Authorities seized the vast quantities of products during raids in October 2025. Prosecutors emphasized the public health risks associated with vaporisers, including nicotine poisoning and cardiovascular issues, and urged a deterrent sentence for Tan to discourage others from entering the illegal trade.
