The Health Sciences Authority (HSA) reported that 2,428 people were caught and penalised for using vaporisers in the second quarter of 2026. Of these, 81 per cent were regular offenders. The number of cases was about 30 per cent lower than the previous year, coinciding with new anti-vape laws. Authorities also seized 3,900 vaporisers and removed over 600 online listings. In rehabilitation efforts, 264 offenders were placed on programmes, with 245 completing them. The QuitVape programme, launched in September 2025, will end on Sept 1 this year. It was a time-limited measure to help abusers quit voluntarily. From Sept 1, those seeking help can approach the Institute of Mental Health. Vape users, sellers, and smugglers will face higher fines, with maximum penalties of $10,000, $200,000, and $300,000 respectively.
