The vape shop had opened six months earlier with bright, multi-coloured signage, generating complaints from residents and councillors. The Linlithgow Community Council objected, citing rules that prohibit internally illuminated or flashing displays and arguing the signage was too large and incorrectly illuminated. Planners also noted the bare metal shutter was unsympathetic to the conservation area and that traditional timber doors had been improperly removed.
