PRO-6 probes liquid marijuana vape sales after Iloilo bust
Summary
The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) is investigating the possible spread of liquid marijuana sold through vape cartridges following an anti-drug operation in Iloilo City. PRO-6 Director Police Brigadier General Randulf Tuaño directed the Regional Intelligence Division to trace the source of the illegal drugs and how they entered Western Visayas. The operation, conducted by the Iloilo City Police Station 4 in Molo on 21 September 2026 under PCpt. Ryan Christ Inot, led to the arrest of a 21-year-old former student known as alias "Jan2," classified as a high-value individual. Police recovered 84 grams of dried marijuana, four kush products, and three vape cartridges containing suspected liquid marijuana. The suspect allegedly led the operation and maintained five dummy social media accounts to facilitate sales, with students among the intended customers. Transactions reportedly covered Iloilo City and the province, and buyers were required to create dummy accounts to access group chats for arranging deals. Authorities believe the activity may have been ongoing and are investigating whether others are involved in the online distribution network. The continuing investigation aims to trace the supply chain and prevent distribution, especially among young people.
