TikTok Live Vape Sale Turns Into Shooting Near San Antonio's South River Walk

A planned sale arranged on TikTok Live near San Antonio's South River Walk turned violent, police said, after a buyer allegedly pulled a gun, grabbed three vape pens, and opened fire on the seller near the corner of Padre Drive and South River Walk. The victim was shot in the left leg and used his own belt as a tourniquet before officers arrived.

According to foxsanantonio.com, officers were called to the scene around 10:20 p.m. after reports of a shooting on the city's South Side. The San Antonio Police Department responded to the area near Padre Drive and South River Walk, where officers located a victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his left leg. Police described the injury as non-life-threatening.

Investigators said the sale had been arranged through TikTok Live, with the buyer allegedly using a so-called burner account to set up the meetup. Once the exchange was underway, the station's report states, the buyer pulled out a firearm, took three THC vape pens, and fired at the victim approximately five to six times before fleeing. The wounded man managed to call 911 himself and wrapped a belt around his leg to slow the bleeding before officers made contact, per the same account. Police have not released information about the firearm used or clarified whether the victim could face any scrutiny related to the vape transaction itself, details that remain unknown.

Police are looking for two men described only as Hispanic and believed to be in their mid-20s. Investigators said they do not yet have the suspects' names, heights or weights, and no vehicle information has been released. Detectives are also checking whether security cameras in the park captured any part of the encounter, though it has not been confirmed whether that footage exists or what it might show. No arrests had been announced as of Monday, and it remains unclear what charges, if any, the suspects could eventually face.
