In response to resident complaints, Baltimore City Councilmen Zac Blanchard, Tony Glover, and Jermaine Jones are introducing a package of bills on Monday to restrict smoke and vape shops. The proposed legislation would prohibit these shops from operating next door to one another or within 500 feet of schools or recreation centers. Additionally, the bills aim to restrict bright lighting on all businesses, including smoke shops. Councilman Blanchard stated the goal is not to eliminate these businesses entirely but to prevent high concentrations of them in specific areas of the city.
