U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers in Chicago seized 43,200 illicit vaping products originating from China and destined for Mississippi. The seizure occurred because the products violated the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FD&C) by lacking required FDA marketing authorization, and the shipment was also undervalued to evade duties and import requirements. The domestic value of the seized Kangvape Onee Stick products was over $358,000.
