The Warner Robins City Council unanimously approved a six-month moratorium on issuing new licenses for retail liquor package stores and businesses primarily selling vape, CBD, tobacco, and related products. The pause, effective until June 2, 2026, exempts pending applications. Councilman Kevin Lashley introduced the resolution, citing the increasing number of vape shops and concerns from residents. Mayor LaRhonda Patrick noted the city currently has 20 licensed liquor stores and 39 licensed vape stores. City staff will use this time to review and update ordinances regulating the location and number of these businesses, as the amendment process has taken longer than anticipated.
