A Singaporean man was fined for posting vaping content on social media, marking the first such prosecution in the country.

Summary

A 25-year-old man, Krish Khalifa, was fined S$12,000 by Singapore’s Health Sciences Authority (HSA) for posting videos and photos of himself using e-vaporisers on YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok between November 2023 and September 2024. This case represents the first prosecution of its kind in Singapore for online vaping content. Khalifa was also fined an additional S$2,000 for possessing the e-vaporisers shown in his posts. The HSA reported identifying and fining 38 individuals for similar social media posts between January 1 and November 30. The prosecution highlights Singapore’s strict regulations regarding e-vaporisers and the enforcement of these rules through online monitoring.
