Marijuana candy, cannabis vape seized at NAIA
Summary
The Bureau of Customs-Ninoy Aquino International Airport (BOC-NAIA) intercepted marijuana candy, cannabis vape cartridges containing approximately 19.5 ml of cannabis oil, and 3.5 grams of dried marijuana leaves hidden within parcels declared as candy at the Central Mail Exchange Center (CMEC) in Pasay City. The shipment originated from Costa Mesa, California, USA, on January 26, 2026. A joint operation involving the BOC, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), and the NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (NAIA-IADITG) led to the discovery of 63 packages containing the illicit goods. Two individuals who claimed the parcels have been arrested and will be charged with violations of Republic Act No. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, as amended) and Republic Act No. 10863 (Customs Modernization and Tariff Act).
