59 large-scale vape smuggling cases detected by HSA and ICA in 2025; 230,000 vapes and parts seized
Summary
Singapore authorities detected 59 large-scale vape smuggling cases in 2025, resulting in the seizure of approximately 230,000 vapes and accessories by the Health Sciences Authority (HSA) and Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA). Over the past two years, more than 10,000 online advertisements for vapes were removed, with 99% of these originating from overseas platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, WeChat, YouTube, and Telegram. Authorities are employing various methods, including surveillance bots, public tip-offs, and collaboration with the Infocomm Media Development Authority and Singapore Police Force, to combat illegal vape activities. Since September 1, 2025, when stricter anti-vape measures were implemented, 3,534 individuals have been caught and fined for vape-related offenses, including 3,168 vape offenders and 366 Kpod abusers. Vape syndicates in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, continue to smuggle vapes into Singapore via land routes and concealed within cargo.
