A 21-year-old man in Singapore is assisting with investigations after a video of him allegedly vaping on a public bus went viral on social media. The video, posted on January 30th by the Instagram account Sgfollowsall, shows the man approaching the bus captain and blowing smoke in their direction. The Health Sciences Authority (HSA) identified the man and seized e-vaporisers and 12 pods from his home on February 3rd. Penalties for vaping have been strengthened since September 1st, with first-time offenders facing a $700 fine and repeat offenders potentially facing prosecution and a fine of up to $2,000. SMRT and HSA have been contacted for further information.
