Florida Officials Announce Record Seizure of Illegal Vaping Products
Summary
Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier announced the largest seizure in state history of illegal vaping products, following operations by a statewide Vape Task Force. The task force, comprised of multiple state and local agencies, targeted vape shops selling unlawful products that pose risks to children and consumers. Over 2,183 illegal vapes, along with nitrous-oxide canisters and related items, were confiscated across four operations in Clermont, Ocoee, Okaloosa County, and Milton. Violations included improper labeling, lack of child-resistant packaging, and marketing appealing to children. One business owner was arrested for illegally selling nitrous oxide. The enforcement effort is supported by the Vape Free Florida Fund, established through a settlement with JUUL Labs, and aims to protect communities from dangerous vaping products.
