Easy Shop, a vape shop located at 116A High Street in Gosport, has been closed for three months following a full closure order granted by Portsmouth Magistrates' Court on April 16th. The closure was secured by Hampshire Constabulary’s Neighbourhood Policing Team in partnership with Hampshire Trading Standards, following reports of illegal sales of vapes, tobacco, and cigarettes, as well as concerns about anti-social behaviour and underage sales. Sergeant Rhys McCarthy stated the police are “committed to addressing the sale of illegal tobacco products” and ensuring community safety. The order prohibits anyone from entering the premises except for authorized personnel such as police, council employees, and emergency services, with potential fines or imprisonment for those who violate it. The closure is effective until July 16th, operating under section 80 of the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014.
