Public vaping ban 'won't dim HK allure to tourists'
Summary
The Tobacco and Alcohol Control Office stated that the ban on alternative smoking products in public spaces, effective April 30, will not deter tourists. The office head, Manny Lam, noted that similar regulations exist in over 30 countries, including Singapore and Thailand, and that there has been no impact on their tourist numbers. The office has been informing tourists about the ban since the beginning of the year and has conducted over 11,000 inspections since the January 1 expansion of the smoking ban.
