All Detroit Stadiums Are Now Tobacco-less Facilities
Summary
The Detroit City Council adopted an ordinance on Tuesday, October 21st, making Comerica Park, Ford Field, and Little Caesars Arena entirely tobacco-free facilities. This ban expands the existing prohibition on cigarettes and vapes/e-cigarettes to include smokeless tobacco products like nicotine pouches. Violators will receive a warning for the first offense, but subsequent violations or repeated use could lead to removal from the venue and/or a $500 fine. With this change, Comerica Park joins 18 other MLB stadiums that have adopted comprehensive tobacco-free policies.
