Tajikistan has announced its intention to prohibit the use, production, and circulation of e-cigarettes during the fourth session of the Majlisi Milli. Chairman Rustam Emomali stated the decision is aimed at safeguarding public health and preventing negative impacts on youth and adolescents. This position is supported by medical specialists who cite risks of severe diseases, including respiratory illnesses, cardiovascular conditions, and cancer, linked to excessive e-cigarette use. The World Health Organization has noted the increasing prevalence of e-cigarette use among younger populations. Tajikistan is following a trend, as Mexico has previously implemented similar restrictions on e-cigarettes.
