Investing Australia
SICPA has been contracted by HMRC to provide a traceability solution for vape products in the UK over an initial five-year term.

Summary

Swiss technology company SICPA has secured a contract with His Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC) to implement a traceability solution for vape products in the United Kingdom. Partnering with Cartor Security Printers, a subsidiary of Spectra Systems Corporation, SICPA will deliver a track and trace system beginning in April 2026 with a transitional duty stamp, followed by an enhanced version in October 2026. Cartor will handle the printing of security stamps, while SICPA will provide digital security features, manage coding, and operate the tracking software, overseeing the entire supply chain. The system aims to combat illicit trade and support excise duty collection, utilizing digital identification of suspicious activity and tools for enforcement authorities. SICPA’s chairman and CEO, Philippe Amon, expressed the company’s commitment to supporting HMRC’s mission.
