HSA officers searched his home but found no prohibited items; Tay admitted to vaping on the train and disposing of the device afterward, stating he used it to stay awake during his commute after quitting cigarettes. He purchased the vapes for $22 each from a Bangladeshi individual in Geylang. The court can fine offenders up to $2,000 for possessing or purchasing vapes.
