Perak gives vape sellers until October to halt sales
Summary
The Perak state government has granted vape sellers a grace period until October to cease operations after deciding to ban new sales licenses. Datuk A. Sivanesan, chairman of the State Human Resources, Health, Indian Community Affairs and National Integration Committee, explained that this period allows operators with existing, unexpired licenses to prepare for the full enforcement of the ban. The government initially announced the ban on vape sales licenses in October 2023, with full implementation scheduled for January 1, 2026. Sivanesan hopes sellers will use this time to clear existing stock and halt sales, warning that legal action will be taken against those who continue to operate illegally, emphasizing the ban's focus on public health and community safety.
